Street of Dreams 2010It’s time again for the annual Street of Dreams, the 35th time to be exact. For most, that’s all it ever was, a dream, with prices in the multi-million dollar range. It costs nothing to dream, but turning dreams into reality is another matter. well, reality has changed, with an upside down market, and less money to go around.

While it’s still about the best in home building and showcasing luxury living, both house sizes and prices are more reflective of the current market. Four of the homes sit high atop Forest Heights off Skyline Rd. ranging from 3,000 to 4,100 square feet. The prices, $780,000 to $1.5 million are about half the price of past Street of Dreams homes. You will also see the first ever LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Street of Dreams home, notable from the street with it’s rooftop windmills.

What was traditionally a show of expensive detached home in a single location, has now morphed into a multi-site that includes a detached condominium, apartments, a manufactured home and four detached single-family homes. Free shuttles every 15 minutes will take you around to most of them. For more info go to: www.streetofdreamspdx.com
