Christmas trees in Sherwood

By Sharon Roberson

December 21st, 2006 ·

We found the greatest place in Sherwood to cut down our Christmas tree.  It is a family-run business, Stein’s, and is located off Elwert Road. There are holiday crafts for sale in the home and has a very warm and welcoming feel.

There’s usually plenty of parking available around the house.  They provided us with a wheelbarrow and saw and we started our short 1/8 mile hike to the 5-acre “forest”.  The trail is a bit muddy so not the best for strollers and those that need easy access.  We really felt like we could have been in a mini forest.  The kids got to run off some energy and the experience just added to the Christmas feel.

We got to choose our tree, any tree, for $35!  There are many varieties and sizes to choose from.  What a deal! They did have a tractor available for those that weren’t up to pulling/carrying their tree back to the car. The best part is that it was only a five minute drive from our home, so we were able to get the tree up, decorated and enjoy more family time.
